Celebrating My Spoonflower Patterns: Art, Storytelling, and Vintage Soul
Share
There’s something magical about watching a pattern come to life. A sketch, a color palette, a spark of inspiration—suddenly it becomes fabric, wallpaper, or home décor that someone can actually hold, sew, or decorate with. That is exactly why creating patterns for Spoonflower has become one of my favorite creative adventures.
At Design Bohemian, I’ve always been drawn to the charm of vintage décor, soft textures, and the kind of art that brings a sense of home. My Spoonflower designs are an extension of that love—pieces inspired by antique florals, dreamy boho palettes, and the quiet beauty of nature.

🌼 Where My Inspiration Comes From
Each pattern begins with a feeling.
Sometimes it’s the intricate vines and motifs from an old Art Nouveau illustration. Other times it’s the soft, nostalgic tones from a well-loved quilt found in a vintage shop. I take these little fragments of inspiration and blend them with my own style—creating designs that feel warm, whimsical, and beautifully lived-in.
Pinterest mood boards, color swatches, and my love of heritage décor play a big role in my creative process. I’m always searching for those soft, harmonious palettes that feel both modern and timeless.
🖌️ A Mix of Handcrafted & Digital Magic
I design everything in Photoshop, because I like having full control over texture, lighting, and balance. Many patterns start as hand drawings—floral sketches, lace-inspired shapes, or tiny motifs that later grow into repeating designs.
From there, I refine them digitally:
-
Adjusting color palettes
-
Softening edges
-
Adding lightly distressed texture
-
Creating seamless repeats
It’s a blend of handcrafted charm and digital polish, which gives each pattern its own personality.
🌿 Patterns Designed for Real Homes
One of the things I adore about Spoonflower is that these designs don’t just live on a screen—they become part of someone’s world.
My patterns work beautifully for:
-
Fabric projects (quilts, bags, skirts, pillows)
-
Wallpaper (accent walls, powder rooms, vintage-inspired spaces)
-
Home décor (curtains, bedding, table linens)
Whether you’re designing a cozy reading corner or sewing your next heirloom piece, my hope is that these patterns bring a little beauty and calm into your day.
💖 Why I Love Creating for Spoonflower
Spoonflower gives independent artists like me a place to share art that feels personal, soulful, and meaningful. Seeing my designs out in the world—transformed into someone’s project or space—is one of the most rewarding parts of creating.
Every purchase also helps support my studio and the time I spend crafting new collections. It’s a beautiful circle of creativity and community.
